Acupuncture

Acupuncture balances the body's "qi" or vital force, to optimize its flow. Thin stainless steel disposable needles are inserted into specific points along the body's energetic pathways or meridians. Most people find the treatments relaxing and energizing. Chinese herbal formulas help prolong and enhance the benefits of acupuncture treatments.

Acupuncture originated in China over 3,000 years ago and is presently used as a primary health care modality throughout the world. Thin, sterile, disposable, stainless steel needles are used to direct and stimulate energy flow (known as Qi) to create balance in one's natural energetic patterns. Traditional Chinese medicine views disease as the result of an imbalance or blockage in the body's natural energy flow. Such imbalances manifest in physical, emotional, and psychosomatic stress-related disorders. By stimulating specific points on the body, acupuncture disperses blockages in the energy flow, allowing the body/mind/spirit to function optimally, enhancing physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Also included in traditional therapies are nutritional and lifestyle assessments, as well as suggestions for supportive herbal or homeopathic remedies, Oriental massage techniques, and moxibustion (technique of stimulating acupuncture points with heat). Traditional Chinese Medicine recognizes that aches, pains, and other disease conditions are only symptoms of a deeper, underlying imbalance and takes the whole person into account (not just the symptoms) in developing individualized treatment plans.

Acupuncture has been found useful in treating the following chronic and acute disorders, as acknowledged by the World Health Organization:

  • Allergies
  • Arthuritus
  • Backache
  • Cardiovascular

Allergy Elimination

Natural allergy desensitization is a non-invasive method of eliminating sensitivities to foods, chemicals or environmental substances. The treatment process incorporates acupuncture or acupressure and applied kinesiology (or computerized sensitivity screening) and uses one or more of the following protocols: - NAET-Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Technique -original natural allergy desensitization technique, addresses 10 basic nutrients before chemicals or environmental substances. BioSET -emphasizes digestion, assimilation, and detoxification. JMT-Jaffe-Mellor Technique focuses on clearing pathogenic factors that could lead to arthritis, degenerative joint disease, MS, and Crohn's Disease. GIFTS Program examines the role metabolic factors play in the body. All of these techniques are processes of retraining body and brain to react appropriately to substances/issues rather than to react inappropriately.

For more information about these techniques go to www.bioset-institute.com or www.naet.com.

Chiropractic

The body has the ability to heal itself when there is no interference within the nervous system. Chiropractic care focuses on restoring proper nerve function so that optimal health & vitality can be achieved.

Chiropractic is a safe, effective, natural approach to obtain a state of optimum health. The chiropractic philosophy recognizes that there is an internal wisdom, “innate intelligence,” within each of us that creates, develops and maintains our existence and regulates our state of health. This innate wisdom is housed within the vertebral column and communicates with all parts of our body via the nervous system.

The nervous system sends messages from our brains to every cell, tissue, and organ in our body. When a vertebra in the spinal column misaligns due to a trauma, toxin, or thought it causes interference in the nervous system. The message it is sending no longer reaches the designated body part; this results in both structural and energetic problems in the body’s natural function. When the spinal vertebra is repositioned and proper nerve flow is regained, these problems/conditions can heal.

Most known for treating back pain, joint pain, headaches, etc., chiropractic treatment also aligns imbalances that may underlie many chronic disorders. Chiropractic has been found useful in treating:

  • Allergies
  • Arthuritis
  • Asthma
  • ADD/ADHD
  • Back pain
  • Carpal Tunnel
  • Depression
  • Digestive disturbances
  • Dizziness
  • Headaches
  • Infertility
  • Joint pain
  • Menopausal Symptoms
  • Menstrual Disorders
  • Neck pain
  • Sciatica
  • Shoulder Pain
  • Sinusitis
  • Stress
  • TMJ problems
Chiropractic is a safe and effective treatment for people of all ages whether they are symptomatic or simply seeking better overall health and quality of life.

Computerized Health Assessment

An exciting new approach to health assessment is revolutionizing the way health care practitioners work with clients. Computerized Health Assessment (also known as Electrodermal Screening) is a safe, highly individualized method of measuring the body's electrical conductivity at acupuncture "endpoints" on the fingers and toes. Using this method, the health of all organs, glands and tissues can be evaluated. Furthermore, the body's response to a remedy can be measured before administering it. This minimizes unpleasant reactions and helps identify key solutions that direct the body's healing processes. The test is quick, painless and you don't even have to get undressed!

One particularly useful application of this new technology is sensitivity testing. A large array of foods and environmental allergens can be tested quickly and accurately allowing the individual to either avoid the allergen or begin allergy elimination treatment.

Many chronic health problems may be the result of underlying toxicity. Computerized Health Assessment uncovers the core causes of today's health concerns. Disorders such as fibromyalgia, arthritis, chronic fatigue, depression, hormonal imbalance and recurrent infection are often dramatically improved once the underlying toxin is identified and detoxification begun.

Treatment may include:
  • Nutritional or lifestyle adjustment
  • herbal remedies
  • flower essences
  • homeopathy
  • nutritional supplements
  • digestive enzymes
